Protecting your data: Here's how.

FWHN already takes precautions to protect your data through nightly disaster recovery backups; however, there are additional things you can do to ensure the safety of your information.  If you prefer to leave all data backup in our hands, you can subscribe to our SharePoint item level backup by:

• Calling our toll free number at 866.780.4678 and speaking to Customer Care. 
• Signing up online at www.fpweb.net/my-account/addons.asp.

This feature ensures that FWHN will backup your information down to the item level on a separate server on a nightly basis.  This information will be kept for 7 business days.  Should anything happen to your site, we will be able to provide you with the most recent version of your site.

On the other hand, if you prefer to manage the data backup yourself, you can do so through SharePoint Designer 2007.  Simply, build out your site and back it up on your hard drive.  Backups should be done on a regular basis and/or after major informational changes are made.  Keep in mind, a recent discovery found that SharePoint Designer will crash when attempting to back up a site with file size over 24 MB.  Microsoft is correcting the issue and plans to release a patch to rectify the problem in November.
