Outlook 2000/2002/XP/2003 Setup Instructions
Our Microsoft Outlook 2000/2002/2003 tutorial shows how to
setup Outlook 2002/2003 to retrieve email from your Frontpage
accounts.
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2000/2002/2003
- Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then
Select
"E-mail Accounts" or "Accounts".

- The screen below should appear. Under the
"E-mail" heading, be sure that "Add a new
e-mail account" is selected by clicking on the
appropriate circle. Then click "Next >"
button in the bottom right hand of the window.

- The next screen will appear, asking you to choose
the type of server. Select "POP3" by
clicking on the circle next to "POP3", and then
click the "Next >" button in the bottom
right hand of the window.

- On the next screen, you will be asked for your
e-mail settings:
Under "User Information"
Your Name: John Doe
E-mail Address:
johndoe@yourdomain.com
Under "Server Information":
Your incoming mail server is a POP3 server and its name
is mail.yourdomain.com
Your outgoing mail server is an SMTP server and
its name is mail.yourdomain.com
Under "Logon Information":
Enter in the User Name (your full email address) and Password that was
issued to you by Frontpage.
User id:
user@yourdomain.com
Password: provided

- Click the "More
Settings ..." button. Click the "Outgoing
Server" tab. Check the box for "My
outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".
Be sure that the "Use same settings as my
incoming mail server" radio button is selected.
Click "OK".
- Click the "Next >" button in the bottom right hand
of the window.
- When the next window opens, click the "Finish"
button in the bottom right hand of the window.

- Now to retrieve your mail, in the Outlook 2002
window, choose "Tools" from the menu bar, then
select "Send and Receive".
Can't send email?
If you have checked
authentication and it still
won't send use your Internet connection
provider's SMTP server. Enter the SMTP address in
the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) field. For example,
mail.earthlink.net.
