Connect Outlook 2007 to POP3 Webmail

If you are using Microsoft® Office Outlook® 2007, you can get your email on your desktop/laptop computer from the Internet. Our Microsoft Outlook 2007 tutorial shows how to setup Outlook 2007 to retrieve webmail from your Frontpage accounts.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007
2. Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then Select "Accounts Settings".

3. Click the New... button

4. Check the box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click

5. Now, you have to specify the email account settings. Please make sure to replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name in all examples below
  • User Information:
    1. Your Name – type in the name that your recipients will see in the “From” field of e-mails you send.
    2. Click on E-mail Accounts.
    3. Email Address – type in your complete email address
  • Server Information:
    1. Incoming mail server (POP3) – type in mail.yourdomain.com.
    2. Outgoing mail server (SMTP) – type in smtp.yourdomain.com.
  • Logon Information:
    1. User Name - type in your complete email address.
    2. Password – type in the password for this email account that was issued to you by Frontpage.
    3. Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) – do not check this box.

6. Once you have filled in the above information, click on the More Settings button

7. Select the Outgoing Server tab and check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select also the radio button next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Can't Send Email?

If you have checked authentication and it still won't send use your Internet connection provider's SMTP server. Enter the SMTP address in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) field. For example, mail.earthlink.net.
